Literacy Council of North America Acquires Intervention Trademarks
The North American Trainers Organization, the university professors leading Reading Recovery in the United States, announce that the Literacy Council of North America is assuming ownership of the royalty-free trademarks for Reading Recovery®, Descubriendo La Lectura®, and Literacy Lessons® in the U.S. as soon as legal processes are finalized.
The Ohio State University has initiated the transfer of these trademarks with goodwill. This action allows for the ongoing use of these royalty-free trademarks in the United States and ensures that guardianship of the integrity, quality, and high standards associated with them will continue.
This change, a seamless transfer, will become effective upon the review and acceptance by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The transfer of the trademark ownership does not alter established, national implementations, processes, data collection procedures, or professional training activities. Nor does it affect Reading Recovery®, Descubriendo La Lectura®, or Literacy Lessons® programs with current participating schools, teachers, and children.
