New Books Have Been Added to the Book List!

Published On: December 17th, 2024 | Categories: Latest News |

It’s that time of year again! Thanks to hundreds of volunteer hours, over 1,000 books have been added to the Reading Recovery Book List. The Reading Recovery Book List is an essential resource for Reading Recovery professionals, classroom teachers, and educators. RRCNA is committed to the importance of providing texts with a gradient of difficulty as a tool for every classroom.

Thousands of titles comprise the book list. A numeric system of levels 1 to 30 indicates increasingly complex texts, with Level 1 most supportive of emergent readers and Level 30 representing the most sophisticated texts.

All books were screened by a committee through a lens of diversity and are appropriate for use in Reading Recovery. New books are reviewed by Reading Recovery volunteers, who help review and arrange books in a gradient of increasing difficulty by testing books with children in lessons and suggesting final levels. This year, 216 Spanish-language titles have been added to the book list!

The book list is easy to use. To begin, simply log in and navigate to the Book List page under Resources. By clicking Advanced Search, members can search by level, publisher, update date, and Spanish titles.
