LCNA is the only association dedicated to serving students and early literacy professionals throughout North America

LCNA is a membership-based professional association of Reading professionals, advocates, and partners, as well as other interested professionals in literacy education. As a professional association, LCNA provides opportunities for leadership and professional development and is an advocate for Reading throughout North America. Additionally, LCNA facilitates a sense of peer-to-peer community among Reading Professionals. LCNA is the legal agent for the Reading Recovery Community in the United States and facilitates much of the administrative aspects of the Community.

The Journal of Reading Recovery is a practitioner’s journal available only to Council members. Find out how to advertise and to submit manuscripts for consideration. Literacy, Teaching, and Learning — published from 1994 through the fall of 2010 — provides rich research from international authors and perspectives.
